Lower Town South of the Main Street

A well planned tour can easily acquaint us with the lower part of the faubourg, that is, the part that lies between the main street and the southern wall that runs along the sea. A tour of this area would best begin with the eastern end of the lower town, and then proceed along the wall. From the south wall we can make two excursions in the area below the church of Christos Elkomenos. After visiting this section, we can again follow the wall down to the southwestern bastion, and then, going through the western lower town, we can make our way back to the square in front of the church of Christos Elkomenos.
